Diary of a Foodie

Each episode of this mouthwatering food, culture, and travel series dives into the diverse realm of the world's greatest cuisine from New Zealand's purest honey to Italy's famous Parmigiano-Reggiano. What do you think is the world's greatest, indigenous food source?

traveljunkiesaid... I agree! I have just returned from Peru and the food was amazing! The cebiches, the trout, the corn, the cheese, the quinoa soup, the lucuma! The people, so friendly and so repectful of their own history. I could go on and on. I feel blessed to have been able to experience first hand this lovely, hauntingly beautiful corner of the world.

jcattosaid... The place that really knocked my socks off was Peru--one stroll through the local market in Cusco revealed 100s of varieties of corn (purple, giant white, etc...), dozens of potatoes (pink, speckled, bright white), and an incredible array of quinoa sizes and colors. There are also numerous, earthy cheeses produced by the goats that graze on grasses at timberline, high in the Andes. It's a magical place with an ancient cuisine that's equally enchanting.

Ireland

What did you discover in your very own Ireland?

mssdprasad04said... Nic channel

emtravelsaid... I have to say Ireland was one of my most favorite vacations. I never could have dreamed how green is really was there. The coast along the Dingle Peninsula is one of the most spectacular sites I have ever seen. From the high cliffs to the beautiful beaches, it was such a spectacular place. The small port town of Kinsale is another magnificent site. The view out along the water really looked amazing especially when the sun was just setting. We had some great seafood chowder here, literally overflowing with fresh lobster and crab. I also enjoyed visiting Blarney Castle and kissing the infamous Blarney stone. And our trip to Dublin was packed full of adventure from visiting Trinity College and seeing the Book of Kells, to touring the Gunnies factory and strolling through Temple Bar. It was a trip of a lifetime and I look forward to the day I go back!

rudfsusaid... I love golf in Dublin. I know that the Southwest has the most famous courses but personally I love Portmarnock, County Louth (Baltray), The Island, Royal Dublin, St. Annes, etc. There is something great about playing golf in the morning, having a pint (or four) at lunch, taking a nap, having dinner somewhere in the City Centre, then hitting Temple Bar until the pubs close.
